World of Outlaws bring Garrett Smith to Swainsboro Raceway
As the World of Outlaw Late Model Series made the trek to his home state, Garrett Smith was one of the 42 Late Models checked in at Swainsboro (Ga.) Raceway on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Battle at the Crossroads.
Missing Friday's opening show, Smith turned his attention to Saturday's $15,000-to-win finale where he qualified second-fastest in his group and picked up a heat race victory. Garrett redrew the outside pole and ran Top-5 for much of the 50-lap main event before fading outside the Top-10. He wound up 25th.
