Georgia Racer Earns $7,533 for First Win of 2025

EATONTON, Ga. (03/31/25) – Garrett Smith turned around his early-season struggles this past weekend, soaring a $7,533 victory in the third round of the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals miniseries at Buckshot Speedway.

The 2022 Dirt Track World Championship winner piloted his Terminal Maintenance & Construction / Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Inc. No. 10 Longhorn Chassis to a flag-to-flag victory in Friday's caution-filled feature to claim his first win of the season.

"God's good, man. I feel like I've been kind of doubting myself and I've just been talking to Him and reading some stuff and just trying to get my motivation up," Smith said. "I've been been struggling here lately and we've been working hard at the shop. I just can't thank everybody (enough) that helps me."
Coming off a doubleheader weekend in his home state of Georgia, Garrett Smith invaded Buckshot Speedway (Clanton, Ala.) on Friday evening to pilot his Atlanta Paving & Concrete No. 10 Late Model for the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals opener.

With just over 20 Late Models in the pit area, Smith laid down the fastest lap of the evening which not only locked him into the feature but also put him on the pole.

In the 40-lap main event, Garrett avoided a few early-race pileups before pulling away to secure his second career Spring Nationals victory. Smith pocketed the $7,553 winner’s payday 0.995 seconds ahead of Cody Overton with Dylan Knowles rounding out the podium.

Friday’s win marked his first victory of the 2025 season.

Following the tour to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday, Smith started fourth in the $10,053-to-win feature but faded to finish outside the Top-10 in 11th.

Smith is slated to take the next two weeks off as he prepares for a doubleheader weekend, beginning at I-75 Raceway on Friday, April 18. The team is still weighing their options for Saturday's race, with the decision narrowed down to either Tazewell Speedway or Eldora Speedway.

Full details for Friday’s event at the Tennessee oval are available at www.I-75RacewayPark.com.
